Jake Tidwell is a 2017 2B/OF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Lewisville, TX who attends Hebron High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a long, lean build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Quick-twitch muscle shows running, posted a 6.81 60-yard dash. Primary second baseman, fields the ball out front with a wide base, extra step moving into release, works to an over the top arm slot and gets on top well, shows quickness to arm, front side occasionally opens early but shows accuracy across the diamond. Righthanded hitter, begins with a lower hand set pull back at start and a high back elbow. Simple load at start of swing, stays short to the ball, occasionally drifts to the front side at contact. Line drive swing plane, lets the ball travel and employs a contact approach, shows a sound path to the ball with a high finish at times. Good student.
