McKinley Strickland is a 2017 OF/LHP/1B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Pembroke, NC who attends Purnell Swett HS. Medium, solid build with some present strength. Shows defensive tools in both outfield and at first base. Solid actions, clean arm-action and strong arm, could speed up release. Left handed hitter, slightly open stance with deep hand load. Shows good bat speed, repeats swing path well, natural loft and carry off of barrel, shows pop to pullside. Also pitches, stays balanced well throughout delivery, uses long, loose arm action to high 3/4 arm slot. Fastball up to 83 mph, solid command of pitch with solid plane, plays better down in zone. Mixes in a curveball with tight spin and good depth, shows good feel for offering and ability to manipulate shape. Named to Top Prospect List. Outstanding student.
