He hits from a slightly open stance with lift and leverage in his swing. He has good natural bat speed and good power to all fields. Olsen has a strong arm behind the plate at 79 mph and a good 2.00 pop time. He has very solid catching skills and is a top level 2008 prospect. Justin is a good student.

Justin Olsen is a 2009 catcher/outfielder from Westfield HS in Westfield, New Jersey, with a solid 5'11"/185 pound frame. Justin was named to the Top Prospect Team. He is a right handed hitter that hits from a wide base with a no stride approach at the plate. Olsen has a quick bat with good raw power. He can flat out hit and had good game at bats. Justin has a good transfer from behind the plate with good carry on his 71 mph throws. He is a good defensive catcher. Olsen is a solid student as well.
