Braxton Chisholm is a 2006 catcher/outfielder from St. Cloud, FL with a good athletic body at 6-1, 185 lbs. He's one of the more athletic catching prospects in the 2006 class, with excellent speed in the 60 at 6.84 and very light and quick feet. Chisholm has very good arm strength at 78 mph and had a best pop time of 1.93 during drills. He puts his throws right on the bag. Offensively, Chisholm has a full effort, aggressive swing that creates plenty of bat speed. He gets very good extension out front and has the type of one handed classic follow through that can put opposing catcher's in danger of getting drilled by his back swing. Chisholm has the potential to hit for big time power in the future as he refines his swing. His skills are on the raw side now but there is no mistaking his physical ability. He's a potential big time sleeper.

Chisholm is a 6-1 junior catcher from Florida with excellent athletic ability that is raw right now on the baseball field. He has a wiry, tightly wound body that is full of quick twitch muscles. Chisholm’s on field personality has some of the same traits; he’s full of energy, having fun but you can see a nice competitive edge to him, too. Offensively, Chisholm has an all or nothing approach at the plate. He’s pretty selective, but when he swings, it’s full gorilla. He generates above average bat speed with loft and very, very good extension out front. Chisholm hit some bombs in BP and he doesn’t seem to be too concerned when he swings and misses. Defensively, Chisholm has the speed, quickness and arm strength to play most positions. His receiving skills and footwork behind the plate are still developing. He’s played some outfield, too. Keep a close eye on Chisholm, he’s a high ceiling player if he can develop his skills.

Braxton is a 2006 grad with a large frame and solid build. Shows good speed (6.97) and quickness out of the box (4.28). Good jumps on fly balls with quality routes to the ball. If he stays behind the plate his now strongest tool (running) will be less important. As an outfielder he is a threat on the bases as well as on defense. Good contact hitter with ability to make adjustments at the plate. Keep a close eye on this "06".
