Brian Wicker is a 2016 C/1B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Ponca City, OK who attends Ponca City. Large, athletic build with broad shoulders and nice present strength on his frame. Ran a 7.62 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, starts with a low set up, has quick release with a short arm action, accurate throws with carry. Will lower pop time with incorporation of lower half into throws. Also pitched, works from a three-quarter arm slot, effort at release, stays balanced through delivery with slight hip turn at top. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, gets on top of the pitch and throws strikes. Nice feel for curveball, shows 12-6 shape with some depth. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high hand set and uses a small leg lift trigger. Simple swing mechanics, longer bat path but gets barrel through the zone with a fluid swing, shows strength off the barrel to pull side with quick hands.
