Ty Buckner is a 2017 RHP/3B/2B with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from St. Louis, MO who attends Ladue Horton Watkins HS. Slender young athletic build, has some present strength with more to come. Loose arm on the mound, sound online pitching mechanics, upper body will get out in front of his legs at times, quick arm coming through. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side running action. Short curveball with occasional sharpness, projects in all areas on the mound. Hitting tools stood out at the plate, very nice swing mechanics with a short and quick path to the ball, very balanced and direct shift to contact, hard line drive pull contact, ball comes off the barrel hard. Would follow as a two-way prospect. Good student.
