Ihosvany Castaneda is a 2017 OF with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends Charles W Flanagan HS. Medium frame, strong, mature build with present strength. Solid present athleticism and footspeed, ran a 6.88 second 60-yard dash. Right handed hitter, high back elbow set with straight, even stance. Aggressive approach, swings hard. Shows good hand strength and quickness, ball jumps off bat. Middle of the field approach, showed ability to handle the barrel and repeat line-drive swing plane. Moves well to ball in the outfield, could bend better and stay through the ball during transfer. Good instincts in the field, gets on-line and made accurate throws to bases, up to 78 mph in defensive drills. Excellent student.
