Sean McLaughlin is a 2017 1B/3B with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Morehead City, NC who attends West Carteret HS. Has a large frame, strong build, clear sign of present strength. Posted a 7.48 60-yard dash. Primary first basemen. showed quick footwork, good hands, and accurate throws with good arm strength up to 81 MPH on throws across the diamond. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a squared upright stance. Uses a middle of the field approach looking to drive the ball gap to gap with authority. Does a nice job of keeping his hands inside the ball while generating good back spin, good weight shift and strong lower half. Showed good bat speed and strength at the plate, present power to all fields. Excellent student. Named to National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
