Arthur Sells is a 2016 1B/RHP/OF with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from West Des Moines, IA who attends Valley HS. Large frame with good present strength and overall build. Projects well physically. Hits from an open stance with high back elbow, shows max effort swing with good bat speed and strength. Gets very good extension out front with good gap-to-gap power at present; projects to develop more HR power in future as well. Shows good bat path through zone with some natural loft. Worked out at 1B and in OF. Showcased strong arm from both spots, hitting as high as 83 MPH on radar gun from OF. Charges and fields well in OF with obvious arm strength. Comfortable around the bag during 1B drills. Shorter arm action with quick release. Pitched as well. Uses drop and drive mechanics and throws from high 3/4 slot with a FB/CB/CH combination of pitches. Up-tempo, rock and fire delivery. Gets on top of all 3 pitches and is able to work down in the zone effectively. Straight fastball worked in the high 70's, touching 80. Curveball sat around 70 MPH and showed good 11/5 shape with good depth; changeup was thrown in the low 70's as well with obvious velocity separation while being thrown with same arm speed and from same arm slot.
