Jacob Houston is a 2008 1B/P with a 6'2'', 190 lb. frame from Brownsburg, Indiana, who attends Brownsburg High School. Houston has a power body with present strength, and a good frame. He shows solid bat speed through the hitting zone with the ability to catch up to higher velocity pitches. Houston gets good leverage at the point of contact that helps produce present gap to gap power. His power potential makes him a potential middle of the order run producer who can drive the ball. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm circle on the back side. He has projectable velocity on the mound with minor changes to his delivery. He also showed a feel for his change-up at 62 mph, and he mixed in a slow CB at 59 mph. He gets good use of his lower half in his delivery and uses his strength. Showed good hands at first base, and he is a good student as well.
