Colby Dunlop is a 2016 SS/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Dover Plains, NY who attends Upton Lake Christian HS. Young athletic build, looks like an underclassman physically, lots of room to get stronger. Arm works very well from the infield, clean and loose and gets on top of his throws, has good actions to the ball and soft hands, has run 7.0 to 7.1 in the sixty at previous events but did not run here, has the athleticism to stay in the middle infield. Left handed hitter, rotational swing with limited lower half use, stays on plane well and handles the barrel, spray line drive contact, would benefit from additional strength offensively. Also pitched, may have a higher ceiling on the mound. Compact delivery with an extended 3/4's arm slot, arm action is loose and fast, cross body release that tends to limit his ability to get glove side easily but uses his lower half well. Fastball topped out at 87 mph, more velocity in there. Young off speed pitches, tends to slow arm on them but does create spin and life and can improve with adjustments.
