Peter Brown, Jr is a 2016 OF/RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Mt. Pleasant, SC who attends Wando HS. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a well proportioned frame with present strength. Very athletic, ran a 6.70 60-yard dash. Strong showing on the mound, throws from an over the top arm slot with a short and easy arm action coming through the back side. Small rock step at start of delivery, simple and repeatable mechanics, does a nice job of getting on top of the ball and generating downhill plane. Gets nice arm side run on fastball, topped at 83 mph and showed complete control commanding both sides of the plate. Projects with incorporation of lower half. Works low with 12-6 curveball, repeats arm slot and gets nice depth. Longer arm action from outfield, small crow hop to gain momentum, nice strength on throws with carry to intended target. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a high back elbow. Starts with a leg lift trigger, shows a short, fluid path to the ball with quick hands and some lift at contact. Nice strength coming off barrel when squared, will occasionally get to front side earl. Nice two-way potential. Good student. Named to National Underclass East Top Prospect List.
