Austin Simmons is a 2016 RHP/OF with a 6-4 160 lb. frame from Eldridge, IA who attends North Scott HS. Tall and very slender build, young look physically. Rotational delivery with a big upper body swing, high 3/4's arm slot, will come inside the ball on release, gets downhill consistently and repeats his mechanics well. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, gets nice running and sinking life down in the zone, tends to straighten when up, maintained his fastball velocity well. Big sinking life on his change up as well, quality pitch. Surprising spin and depth on his curveball considering his release point. Primary fastball pitcher who throws lots of strikes but has two good secondary pitches he can mix in more while he fills out and gains velocity.
