2003 Western Underclass Showcase
Maugeri was one of our favorite players by the end of the Showcase, especially after he slammed a home run during the prospect game. He has exceptionally strong and quick hands for his size and uses them well both on defense and with a bat in his hands. He consistently drove the ball hard to all fields during both batting practice and during game situations. There is definitely some juice in Maugeri’s bat. He ran a 7.02 60 for us and is a threat to steal bases at any time. Defensively, Maugeri uses his foot quickness well, has a quick exchange and the ability to throw the ball from multiple arm angles. His arm strength is very playable at second base. Overall, Maugeri is a just a good, solid player with a great approach to the game who’s going to max out his ability. He has a chance to be very good at the next level and he's a 3.8 student.
