William James is a 2016 MIF/3B/RHP with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Comfort, TX who attends Comfort HS. Medium athletic build, prototypical middle infielder's look, some present strength with room to get stronger. 7.06 runner, plays with energy and his speed plays up. More second base actions and tools than shortstop at this point, tends to wait back on balls, gets his feet set and has soft hands at the ball, also plays the outfield. Right handed hitter, straight stance, late pull back load, long uppercut swing plane, has some strength at contact, puts the ball in the air and best to right centerfield when arms are extended, might benefit from a more level swing plane. Also pitched, long arm action from a leg lift delivery, front side and head tend to come off direction early, fastball topped at 74 mph, big breaking soft 12/6 curveball. Very good student.
