Austin Kroll is a 2018 OF/MIF with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Encinitas, CA who attends Cathedral Catholic HS. Young, athletic build with a clean, projectable frame, long limbs with room to fill out throughout. Ran a 7.66 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, gathers behind the ball well and fields the ball out front, full arm action through the back, remains tall at release, shows accuracy on throws and arm strength will continue to develop. Fields with a wide base in the infield, shorter arm action, best carry when on top of throws. Right-handed hitter, starts with a narrow stance and a high hand set. Small leg lift trigger for timing, stays short to the ball and shows a line drive swing plane through the zone. Upper body swing, shows feel for the barrel and consistently gets it to ball, line drive contact, projects with continued physical development, shows an approach in the box.
