Nicholas Lettas is a 2008 RHP with a 6'0'', 170 lb. frame from St. James, NY who attends Smithtown East HS. He has a medium frame and slender, loose athletic build. Lettas throws from a high 3/4's arm slot from a balanced and repeatable delivery. He has a very fast arm and threw his fastball from 89-92 mph with minimal effort. His fastball was straight at times and a 2-seamer might be featured in his future. Lettas' best secondary pitch was a change up that he maintained good arm speed on at release. His curveball is still in the developing stages, he doesn't yet have the good hard breaking ball that he will likely develop in the future. Lettas is a good athlete who plays third base and swings the bat a bit. He has the athletic ability and arm that creates lots of projection..

Nicholas Lettas is a 2008 RHP from Smithtown East HS, residing in St James, New York, with a 6'0"/170 pound frame. Lettas has a medium sized frame with a lean athletic build. Lettas pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action. He has a live arm with very good arm speed. His arm works well and easy. Lettas has a balanced delivery with sound mechanics. He repeats his delivery well and is able to spot his fastball well. Lettas throws a 2 seam fastball that has good armside run to it. His fastball is sneaky fast at 91 mph and gets on the hitter in a hurry. Lettas throws a sweeping breaking ball on an 11/5 plane. His curveball has depth and he throws it for strikes. Lettas maintains arm speed on his change up that gets sink. At the plate, Lettas starts with an open stance and uses a short stride to start his swing. He makes consistent contact and has a short path to the baseball. Defensively, Lettas has good arm strength from the outfield with carry on his throws. Lettas is a national level prospect.

Nicholas Lettas is a 2008 3B/P with a 6'1'', 170 lb. frame from St James NY, who attends Smithtown HS. He has a medium frame and lean build that is projectable for a rising junior. Lettas ran the 60 in 7.25 and threw a strong 85 mph across the infield during drills. His arm works very well and he has excellent carry on his throws. Lettas' defensive actions were smooth and confident and he has all the tools to be a very good defensive player at the next level. Offensively, Lettas hits from a tall stance with still hands and very little trigger. Once he gets his hands going he shows good bat speed and the ball jumped off his bat well. He'll need to develop some way to get his hands moving and some rhythm to the ball to start tapping all his hitting potential as he faces better pitching but he has the raw tools to hit. Lettas also showed prospect pitching ability on the mound. The arm strength he showed at third base translated, as he was 84-86 mph pitching with a tight spinning 67 mph curveball and nice sinking 76 mph change up. Lettas throws from a deliberate delivery with good loading actions and nice arm speed. His fastball had good life at the plate. Lettas is a nice two-way prospect who is projectable and has a bright future.

Nicholas Lettas is a 2008 3B/RHP from St. James, New York, with a strong and solid 5'11"/178 pound frame. As a right handed hitter, Lettas hits from a wide base with a closed stance. He has good hands and generates good bat speed. Nicholas makes consistent hard line drive contact at the plate. He showed very good arm speed across the infield with good carry and accurate throws. On the mound, he pitches from a 3/4 to low 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action. He has very good arm speed and uses minimal effort in his balanced delivery. Lettas moves his 83 mph fastball in and out well and compliments that with an 11-5 tight breaking curveball. Nicholas is a solid right handed pitcher.
PG Grade 8.5
