Christopher "Scott" Short is a 2016 C/MIF, UT with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Ingram, TX who attends IMG Academy. Large, athletic build with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to add strength. Ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, pops out of crouch well, receives out front and shows full arm action into tight release, accurate to the bag, arm strength will continue to develop. Quick feet to the ball in the outfielder, shorter arm action with big crow hop into release with accuracy to bag. Fields out front in the infield and works through the ball, tall at release, can make accurate throws from multiple arm slots. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance and a high hand set. Small weight shift through lower half into contact, long swing but gets barrel to the ball, shows bat speed through the zone and carry off the barrel to pull side that projects well moving forward. Line drive swing plane, occasionally gets to front side early. Very good student.
