Jacob Brandenburger is a 2016 RHP/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Mission Viejo, CA who attends Mission Viejo HS. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength throughout. Primary right-handed pitcher, short and compact delivery with repeatable mechanics, good rhythm and tempo with an online landing. Works from a high three-quarter arm slot, gets on top of ball and creates downhill plane on fastball and lives down in zone, topped out at 79 mph, mostly true with occasional running life to arm side. Curveball showed 11-5 shape with some sweeping finish, drops arm slot slightly at release. Mixes well and shows command of zone. Quick steps to ball in outfield, remains short in back with arm action, small crow hop to gain momentum, longer release, accuracy on throws. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a high hand set. Small leg lift trigger, stays short to the ball with a line drive swing plane. Upper body swing, shows feel for the barrel and creates contact to all fields with carry coming off when squared. Good student.
