2007 South Top Prospect Showcase
Robert Zaragoza is a 2008 3B/2B/OF with a 5'10'', 190 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Jersey Village. Robert has a thick athletic build with present strength in his upper and lower half. He has a good arm from third base and had a top velocity of 80 mph across the infield. In his first game he made a great over the shoulder catch running down the left field line, then turned around a doubled off a runner at second base. He has range, and his feet work. He positions himself well. At the plate he is a line drive hitter, and he looks to pull the ball. He has a very aggressive approach, and takes his cuts early in the count. He has a high effort swing that generates good bat speed, and he hits from a wide base. He is a lift and replace style hitter with some pop, and flashes power potential. He is solid all around player, and was named a top prospect for the showcase.
