J.T. Reed is a 2016 OF/ with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Greenfield, WI who attends Whitnall. Smaller athletic build. Switch hitter. Creates a coiled top half from the left side of the plate. Smooth with hands to contact and is compact. Shows hand quickness and barrel control with ability to hit to all fields. Line drive swing plane that conistently produces hard contact. Shows the same coiled load from the right side of the plate. More rigid, yet compact patch to contact with consistent line drive plane. Produces more loft from the right side of the plate. Fundamental sound from boths sides of the plate. Shows clean, quick arm actions from the outfield. Topped at 77 mph. Transitions into throw very quickly with accuray to bag. Shows closing speed to ball in the gap and recovers well. Very athletic prospect that projects well with added strength.
