2015 Mid Atlantic Top Prospect Showcase
Matthew Cocciadiferro is a 2016 OF/ with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Dumont, NJ who attends St. Joseph HS. Long lean build, medium frame, room to fill out physically as he continues to put on additional muscle. Posted a 7.14 60-yard dash, runs well. From the outfield, does a nice job of coming through the baseball, athletic actions, over the top arm slot, really good arm strength with serious carry on throws. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a wide base, high hand set, and high back elbow. Full swing, quick bat speed and barrel, flashed quick twitch ability, has leverage, ball carries to gaps, natural lift at the point of contact. From the mound, throws from an over the top arm slot, long arm action, quick arm speed, gets on a down hill plane, high leg lift, high energy delivery. Fastball is straight, pounded the strike zone. 11/5 curveball shape with good depth, developing command. Not listed as a pitcher but arm projects. Good overall tool set. Named to Mid Atlantic Top Prospect List.
