Travis Walters is a 2017 C/3B, 2B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Mansfield, TX who attends Mansfield High School. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a strong, mature look with strength proportioned well throughout frame. Ran a 7.34 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, compact actions and comes out of crouch well, gains ground with lower half and works over front side, short and quick arm action through the back, tight release, shows carry and accuracy out of the hand with present arm strength, repeats well, 1.88 best pop. Similar compact arm action across the infield, tight release from ear, gets on top of throws, shows quickness to footwork on lateral range with short steps, comfort throwing from multiple arm slots. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high back elbow in the box. Simple leg trigger load, uses hands well in swing and shows quickness to them, upper body dominant swing. Physical strength plays well, line drive swing plane with occasional lift that helps generate carry off the barrel to the opposite field, short path overall to the ball. Very good student. Named to South Top-Top Prospect List.
