Benton Rogers is a 2016 SS/2B with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Amarillo, TX who attends Amarillo. Medium, athletic frame with present strength throughout and some room to fill out with additional muscle. Ran a 7.08 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front with a wide base, short arm action coming through the back with present strength and carry across the diamond. Quickness on feet with range to right and ability to pick the backhand clean. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high hand set and uses a high leg lift trigger. Simple swing mechanics and repeats them well with a short path to the ball. Upper body swing, quick barrel through the zone, consistent contact to pull side with occasional lift. Occasionally gets on front side early but gets barrel through the zone and shows a feel for it. Good student.
