Brenden Kalfus is a 2009 OF/3B/1B with a 5'11'', 165 lb. frame from Temecula, CA who attends Temecula Valley HS. He is quite physically developed for a young player, with a strong upper body build. His lower body is not as developed and gives him a somewhat disproportionate appearance. Kalfus' outstanding tool is his bat and in our opinion there is no doubt that he can and will continue to hit at a high level. He has a lively swing and consistently makes hard barrel contact. Kalfus handles wood really well and can hit for some power. He is stronger on the left side. Defensively he showed solid arm strength and footspeed that profiles him as a corner outfielder, likely in left field. Kalfus threw accurately. He is an outstanding student and because he has a bat that will play early in college he is a very strong D1 prospect.

Brenden Kalfus is a 2009 MIF/3B with a 5'11'', 142 lb. frame from Temecula CA, who attends Temecula Valley. Kalfus has a thin lean body with a wirey build. Defensively Kalfus has good defensive actions at middle infield and has nice hands. Kalfus moves to the ball well defensively and has developing arm strength. His actions are advanced for his age. From the right side of the plate Kalfus uses a leg lift trigger and keeps his head down on the ball well. He has a short compact swing and his hands are quick to the ball. From the left side of the plate he uses a weight shift approach and jumps at the ball. He can hit the ball to all fields and consistently hits the ball on a line. He uses a leg lift trigger from the left side as well and swings with some leverage. Kalfus is also a very good student.

Brenden Kalfus is a 2009 MIF/3B with a 5'9'', 130 lb. frame from Temecula CA, who attends Temecula Valley. Brenden has a young body with a lean build. Brenden has good body control and solid actions on the infield. Brenden has soft hands and was hustling all over the field. Brenden is a switch hitter and uses a knee lift trigger to start his swing. He has a short bat path from both sides of the plate and stays balanced through his swing as well. From the right side of the plate he looks to hit the ball up the middle from gap to gap. From the left side Brenden looks to hit the ball to the opposite field. Brenen is currently a slap hitter, but that will change as his body matures. Brenden has the tool set to improve and is a very good student.
