Will Smith is a 2017 RHP/1B with a 6-5 180 lb. frame from Shoreline, WA who attends Shorewood HS. Long and lean build, projects very well physically. Extended 3/4's arm action creates good angle to the plate, arm works very smoothly with looseness and fluidity, repeats his mechanics very well. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, gets good running life and can turn it over with sink as well, can work to both sides of the plate and pitches to spots with maturity, elevated his fastball with intent a couple of times as well. Slider lacks ideal power but gets good tilting action and depth. Showed the ability to bust his fastball inside to right handed hitters while also back footing left handed hitters with his slider. Very effective outing. Should continue to improve with additional strength and physical maturity. Good student.
