2016 Pitcher Catcher Showcase
Cipriano Primicias is a 2016 C with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Toronto, ON who attends Michael Power-St. Joseph HS. Tall, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength throughout. Right handed hitter with a straight, balanced stance and higher hand/ elbow set. Strides to a slightly closed position and creates a coiled top half during the load. Generates solid bat speed with a compact, line drive approach while at the plate. Good strength to swing with promise to develop more. Multiple exit velocites over 90mph off live pitching. Soft hands behind the plate while receiving and funnels well on the edges. Handeled low 90's easily during live session. Large target for pitchers behind the plate. Shows a quick arm circle and exchange when throwing. Tends to get tall out of the stance at times and throw uphill. Throws were accurate to the bag with solid on line carry. Solid tool set defensively and should continue to develop with fluidity. Will make a nice next level receiver with good hitting tools. Good student as well. Named to 2016 Pitcher Catcher Top Prospect List.
