2006 Mid-Atlantic Top Prospect Showcase
James Harlen is a 2007 LHP/1B that attends Mahopac HS and resides Mahopac, NY with a 6'3", 179 lb. frame. James has a tall athletic build with good two-way potential. He has a live arm on the mound but really needs to adjust his arm action. He goes straight back and forth and limits his potential on the mound until he changes his arm action. He works quick on the mound and showed a plus hard slider. With adjustments James has good potential on the mound. At the plate James has good upside with good bat speed. He is able to turn on the ball well from the left side of the plate. James gets very little out of his lower half and could drive the ball even more if he gets his whole body in to his swing. James is a player that will attract the attention of many mid-level college programs.
