Brick Carter is a 6'5" RHP/MIF from Iowa City, Iowa, with a projectable 6'5", 180 lb. frame. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot, and he has a high leg kick that brings his knee all the way to his chest, but he maintains his balance and leverage well. Carter gets natural run on his fastball that topped out at 83 mph, and he worked from 79-83 mph. He showed he could spin his curveball with 11 to 5 tilt and some depth at 66 mph, and he also threw a solid change up at 74 mph. With his frame, flexibility, arm action, and delivery makes you think there is more velocity in his arm. His best pitching days are ahead of him. Carter also hit at the event. He is a right handed hitter with a high hand set with a line drive swing plane. Carter has good bat speed, but he over strides lowering his hands and he hits the bottom half of many balls. He has the tools to be a good hitter, but we really like his future on the mound. His size and arm action make him a must follow.

Brick Carter is a 2006 right handed pitcher/middle infielder from Iowa City, Iowa. At 6'5", 180 lbs., Carter is very projectable with long limbs, and should get even stronger. Carter gets plus movement on his fastball that topped out at 80 mph. He creates a good downward angle to the plate from his 3/4 release point. His change up is solid with slight sink at 71-73 mph, and uses good arm speed on the pitch. Carter has solid command of both his fastball and his change up. He also mixes in a curveball at 65 mph, but throws a better slider at 73-74 mph. Carter has solid mechanics and should continue to add velocity. At the plate, he stays on the ball well, and has average plus bat speed. The ball will jump off his bat at times, but he made inconsistent contact. Carter looks to be a very projectable pitcher with his size, solid mechanics, and ability to throw strikes with three different pitches. Brick is a good student.
