Martinez is a slender 5-11 outfielder from California. He ran 7.54 on the slow track in the workout and threw 73 mph from the outfield with some nice on-line carry and good throwing fundamentals. Martinez hits out of an open stance with a high hand set up and looks like he is trying to stay inside the ball and hit it to right field consistently. Martinez would benefit from more upper body/arm strength in generating bat speed but did a good job of making consistent solid contact in games and batting practice. He's a good student and he can play.
