Bryan Dunlavey is a 2009 3B/P with a 5'10'', 140 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ, who attends Coronado HS. Dunlavey has a lean and lively body. He showed solid speed in the sixty running a 7.16, and he has quickness on the bases and defensively. He has nice footwork at the hot corner with the ability to get in the proper fielding position. He has soft hands, and he made good plays to his back hand. Dunlavey has good body control and nice actions. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an average base with a toe tap trigger. Dunlavey shows bat speed with a nice swing path. He is a line drive hitter who centers the ball consistently. His hands work well, and he stays inside the ball. On the mound he throws from a low 3/4 arm slot with a loose arm. Dunlavey has nice mechanics and a well paced delivery. He gets life on his fastball that topped out at 79 mph, and he should induce many ground balls when the ball is down. He spins his curveball at 63 mph with an 11/5 break. He throws strikes. Dunlavey has upside, and he is a very good student.
