Vincent Velasquez is a 2010 SS/UT with a 6'1'', 120 lb. frame from Pomona CA, who attends Garet HS. Vincent is a young lean player that has plenty of time and room to fill out. He is a switch-hitter that looks a little stronger from the left side of the plate. From the left side he shows a fluild swing with solid bat speed for his age and a good use of his hands. From the right side Vincent gets the bat barrel on the ball well but needs to shorten up some. In the field Vincent has a very advanced feel for the game. You can tell he has been well-coached with a good approach to fielding and a nice release. He has the tools to be a very solid infielder as he gets older. Vincent is a player that could attract attention from many colleges as he gets older and stronger.
