Max Friedman is a 2007 RHP with a 6'3'', 160 lb. frame from Chicago IL, who attends Whitney Young HS. He has a lean body with slopped shoulders and a long torso. Friedman throws from a drop and drive delivery with a short, compact arm action and tight 3/4's release point. He maintains his balance well during his delivery and has some effort on release. He has some arm quickness and the ball leaves his hand easily. Friedman's fastball was in the 80-82 mph range with some running life. His breaking ball was a 71 mph curveball that had a short, sharp break at times. He tends to get under this pitch on occasion and it flattens out. Friedman also threw a 74 mph change up. Friedman should add some velocity as he gains strength and maturity and end up throwing in the mid 80's. He's a good follow for Upper Midwest coaches.
