Casey Coleman is a 2005 right handed pitcher/shortstop from Cape Coral Florida with an athletic body at 6 ft. 1 180 pounds. He pitches from a 3/4 slot with a nice loose arm and an effortless delivery. He works quickly with good command and goes right after hitters. His fastball topped out at 90 mph with good life. His curveball ranged from 70-72 mph with a good sharp break. He has a good feel for his change at 76 mph. He hits from a balanced stance with low hands and a front foot load with a hip coil. He has a long looping swing and gets under most balls. He showed good bat speed. Defensively, he has a quick arm with nice actions. He showed good arm strength at 84 mph across the infield with accurate throws. He has soft hands and nice range and is a solid plug up the middle. He has a good looking body with a smooth arm and he projects in a big way on the mound. Casey is a good student who signed with Florida Gulf Coast..

Casey Coleman is a lean, wirey, athletic 6'0/175 SS/P from Cape Coral, FL. He runs quicker than his 60 time would dictate. He has very good instincts and quickness. He showed MLB arm strength from SS and very nice soft hands. He is a contact line drive hitter who might even hit with power as he grows and gains more strength. He is also a high college level pitcher who threw upper 80s in Tropicana. He also showed a tight, deep CB and a good fading change up. Definitely a DI prospect with draft potential. Casey is a very good student.

Coleman is an "05" SS/RHP from Florida. At 6'0/165 he has a wiry athletic frame that has room for lots of added strength. At the plate: Left handed hitter. Slight drift to the ball at contact. Very good bat path to the ball. Ave hand strength with above average bat speed and power potential. College projection bat. On the mound: RHP with ability to add weight and strength. He throws from a normal 3/4 slot, but will drop to a low 3/4 occasionally with a quick, loose arm. He likes to work quick with deliberate actions and shows good poise on the mound. He noticeably likes to get after hitters. His fast ball has life at 83-86 with good life. Curve is a tight 11-5 rotation with some depth. Change is 71-73 with fade action. D1 with draft potential on the mound. Good prospect, good student.

Casey has a good baseball body and he can play. He didn’t run a good 60yd time but runs much better than what he showed. He can hit! He has a good approach at the plate and nice swing from the left side. He has a good feel for the game and has MLB bloodlines. He only threw 73 across the infield but touch 83 on the mound with good prescence. He is a definite follow for 2005 and could end up one of top 05's in the country if he progresses like we think he will.
