Victor Gomez is a 2007 C/3B with a 6'2'', 215 lb. frame from Miami FL, who attends LaSalle HS. He has a big frame and could firm up his body to add quickness. Defensively, Gomez has very good arm strength and showed it at both catcher and at third base. He has soft hands and receives the ball well but needs to improve his lateral quickness. His best pop time was 1.95 and that can be improved with some adjustments. Offensively, Gomez is a very aggressive hitter who takes an all out, full effort hack ta the ball. He drifts into the ball and has has lots of lift and power in his swing. It looks like he can be pitched to but he will punish mistakes in the strike zone. Gomez has good overall tools and his approach shouldn't be toned down. He'll improve when he gets his body firmed up.
