Earnest Johnson is a 2007 OF/UT with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Elk Grove, CA, who attends Laguna Creek HS. Tall, lean, projectable frame with present strength. Johnson looks good in a uniform and his skills are very good as well. Defensively he has a quick arm from the outfield with good online carry. He moves well and gets good reads off the bat. At the plate he hits from an open stance with a good approach. Johnson loads his hands well and has good bat speed through the hitting zone. He centers the ball well making consistently solid contact. Johnson stays on the ball well with backspin and hits to all field. He has instincts for the game and he has great upside to his overall game. Johnson is a player to follow and his best days are still ahead of him. He is a good student as well.
