2004 Indoor Pitchers/Catchers Showcase
Adam Whiting: Whiting is a senior catcher from Ohio with an excellent athletic frame. He was one of the top couple of defensive catchers at the Showcase. Whiting shifts and moves very comfortably behind the dish despite his 6-2 frame and receives the ball with soft hands. His arm strength is good and his feet work well. At the plate, Whiting has a very nice looking and fundamentally sound swing. He lets the ball get deep into the zone and gets his hands straight to and inside the ball. Whiting’s bat speed was good but with his fundamentals and strength. there’s still more in there as far as bat speed and power potential. This young man is good right now and he has plenty of potential to keep getting better in the future. Adam is a good student and he can play at the DI level.
