At the plate Jarrett has very good raw tools with good bat speed and quick hands. He gets good balance and leverage in his swing and shows good power potential. Jarrett has good pop, but has a tendency to pull off some balls and roll over pitches. In the outfield Jarrett has good range and average arm strength. Jarrett plays the game with an aggressive approach and best profiles in left field. He is a solid student that should attract the attention of many mid to high-level college programs.

Jarett Cook is a 2008 OF with a 5'9'', 170 lb. frame from Tuscaloosa AL, who attends Bryant HS. He has a compact, strong build on a medium frame. Cook ran the 60 in 7.00 and threw 78 mph during outfield drills. He is aggressive going to the ball in the outfield and has good speed underway. Cook flies open early throwing from the outfield and has some effort that can be toned down without losing arm strength. Cook is a very strong looking young hitter with very good hitting mechanics. He gets his lower half into his swing well and generates very good bat speed. His bat stays on the plane of the ball for a long time and the result is consistent line drive contact. Cook's hands are very quick and he can wait on balls and hit the ball deep in the zone. Just as he does when throwing, Cook will pull off early on pitches occasionally. Overall, his bat should carry him and the rest of his tools are playable. Follow his bat. Cook is also a very good student.

Jarett Cook is a 2008 OF with a 5'9'', 170 lb. frame from Tuscaloosa AL, who attends Bryant HS. He has a live, athletic body and some present strength on a medium frame. Cook hits out of a wide, no stride stance and while his swing is a bit long, he creates good bat speed and the ball jumps off his bat well. Cook takes an aggressive, full swing and tries to lift the ball as well as hit it hard. He'll reach for balls on the outside half of the plate but showed during the games that he could drive the inside pitches. Cook is a very good runner, runnng the 60 in 6.83 and showing speed on the bases and in tracking down balls in the outfield. Cook threw 79 mph during outfield drills and could improve his raw arm strength with better throwing mechanics. Overall, Cook is a quality athlete with lots of potential, especially as a multi-skilled offensive player. Good Follow for a 2008 prospect. Cook is also a good student.
