Corey Hlavacek is a 2007 3B/P/2B with a 6'0'', 160 lb. frame from South Daytona FL, who attends Mainland HS. He has a slender build and not much present strength. Hlavacek hits from a tall stance with a simple load and balanced, low tension swing. His swing is fundamentally sound, he just needs more strength to create better bat speed. Defensively, Hlavacek had smooth actions and worked through balls well. His throws had good carry on them from a long arm stroke. Hlavacek also pitched some, showing a loose arm action and a live 81 mph fastball with good running action. The key in all parts of his game will be getting stronger. Hlavacek is also a good student.
