Shea Wright is a 2007 C/3B/P with a 6'3'', 225 lb. frame from Farmington, UT, who attends Viewmont HS. Wright has present strength in his body with big, strong legs. Defensively he has very good arm strength from behind the plate at 79 mph on his throws to second base. Wright's throws are accurate and on the bag and should be able to control an opposition's running game. At the plate he is a switch hitter with a straight away stance and a quiet approach. He takes uses a toe tap trigger and takes an aggressive swing. He has a short and compact swing and the ball jumps off his bat at contact. He showed power to all fields, including a home run during batting practice. He gets leverage at the point of contact and looks like a middle of the order run producer at the next level. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm circle. He has slow and quiet mechanics. His fastball topped out at 84 mph, and he mixed in a 65 mph CB, 72 mph SL, and a 71 mph change. His upside is as a position player.
