Chris Brookey is a 2007 LHP/OF with a 5'10'', 155 lb. frame from Encinitas, CA, who attends La Costa Canyon HS. Lean, athletic frame with projection. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a low leg kick and a deceptive delivery. Brookey has solid arm speed and hides the ball well. He showed good control of his pitches working the corners and staying down in the zone. His fastball topped out at 84 mph with arm side run and occasional sink. He also mixed in a slow 1 to 7 curveball at 67 mph with good spin. Defensively he moves very well in the OF with an easy and loose arm. He gets online carry on his throws and is accurate. At the plate he has good bat speed and is an aggressive hitter. He is short to the ball and the ball jumps at contact. Balanced swing with gap power. He is makes consistent contact and should hit for a high average. Brookey also has great speed and quickness.

Chris Brookey is a 2007 LHP/OF from La Costa Canyon HS in Encinitas, CA, with a 5'10", 145 lb. frame. Brookey is a lean LHP that knows how to pitch and shows that pitchability well for a young pitcher. He has good control with all of his pitches, and changes speeds well. Brookey throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a fluid and easy delivery and good extension, and he has a clean arm action on all of his pitches. His fastball topped out at 81 mph with late run, and he mixed in two breaking balls between 67-70 mph with good late break. Brookey is tough on left handed hitters and works ahead in the count. He allowed only 1 hit in his 3 innings of work, while striking out 2. Offensively he is a right handed hitter with a line drive swing. He hits from a crouched and slightly open stance, and is a contact hitter who will use the whole field including a hard hit double during a showcase game. Brookey has good range in the outfield with an accurate arm. He is young pitcher with pitchability and will only get better as he matures and adds some velocity. He is a must follow, and is a very good student. Chris was named to the Top Prospect List.
