Eric Stampfl is a 2007 RHP/SS with a 6'2'', 160 lb. frame from Dix Hills NY, who attends St John the Baptist. He has a thin, wirey build and hasn't begun to get strong yet. His arm is loose and quick and his delivery smooth enough that it's easy to project him gaining velocity as he gets stronger. Stampfl has some effort on release but that doesn't seem to affect his command or stuff, as he throws consistent strikes. Stampfl's fastball was in the 82-85 mph range, topping out at 87 mph from a high 3/4's release point. He gets nice 4 seam run on his fastball at the lower velocities and his 2 seamers explode in the zone. Stampfl's curveball has very nice velocity at 73 mph and a tight downer break. He also threws a 72 mph change up. Stampfl works quickly and seems to have a good idea what he's doing on the mound. With a little strength he could easily develop into a low 90's guy in a few years. Very good follow!
