Casey Husband is a 2009 C/3B with a 6'2'', 180 lb. frame from Del Mar, CA who attends Cathedral HS. He has a strong physical build and is put together well for the catcher position. Husband is going to be a solid college player and a catcher that will bring offense to that position. He sets up well at the plate and the ball gets off his bat well. He is a line drive hitter now but with the way the ball carries off his bat and with his strength he is going to develop some more power. Husband made hard barrel contact to the opposite field, another good indication that he will continue to develop into a good college hitter. Husband showed some arm strength aside from the velocity reading we got. The ball seemed to be travelling better than that. He threw well in games situations at times, with a 2.15 in-game pop on two occasions. A good catching coach could do a lot with this young player. He puts in good blocking effort and works hard behind the plate. Husband's hands are strong and he is has solidly developing receiving skills. In all facets of the game Husband is a good D1 catching prospect.
