Breck Ashdown is a 2009 1B/P with a 6'4'', 210 lb. frame from Tucson, AZ who attends Catalina Foothills HS. Ashdown has a big, strong frame and showed good athleticism by running a 6.97 sixty time. He shows power potential at the plate and he has excellent bat speed. He gets leverage in his swing and shows pull power. He also impressed on the mound using a 3/4 arm angle to top out at 90mph. He has arm speed and good balance in his delivery. He showed a nice slider that he threw for strikes and kept hitters off balance. He projects well on the mound and is one to follow closely. Breck Ashdown is a 2009 IF/P with a 6'4'', 190 lb. frame from Tucson AZ, who attends Catalina Foothills HS. Breck has a tall athletic build that projects very well. At the plate Breck has great bat speed with good power potential. He has good balance in an easy swing that shows a ton of potential. The ball leaves his bat very well right now and he could improve even more if he shortens up his swing some. In the field Breck has the tools to be a solid third baseman. He has soft hands with an accurate arm and moves fairly easy for a guy of his size. On the mound Breck throws from a full wind-up with a long slinging arm action. He has a good downhill plane on his pitches and shows an 11 to 5 curveball. Breck is a strong student that should be a highest-level college prospect.
