Ashton Kent is a 2008 MIF/3B/OF with a 6'0'', 180 lb. frame from Tucson, AZ, who attends Catalina Foothills HS. Kent has a strong and athletic frame. Defensively he has nice actions in the middle of the diamond. He has good footwork and he moves well showing range and the ability to come in on slow rollers. Kent has nice hands and makes all the plays. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a balanced approach. Kent has bat speed through the hitting zone with a line drive swing plane. He keeps his hands back well and stays inside the ball hitting to all fields. He tracks pitches well and has a good eye, and he will not chase bad pitches. However, he is aggressive with balls in the zone. Kent also hit a HR in game action. He is an athletic player with good upside to his overall game. He is a good student as well.
