Charles "Cody" Lewis is a 2008 RHP/IF/OF with a 6'3'', 220 lb. frame from Laguna Niguel, CA, who attends Dana Hills HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team. Lewis has a durable build with present strength throughout his body. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm circle on the back side. His arm works well with nice extension out front. Lewis has a quick and loose arm that helps produce a fastball that topped out at 87 mph, and he projects to throw harder in the future. He throws an 11/5 curveball with good sharpness, and he throws the pitch for strikes. His curveball has the chance to be a strikeout pitch at the next level. Lewis is a power pitcher with great upside on the mound. He struck out 6 in his 4 innings of work, while allowing only 1 hit. Lewis also showed raw power at the plate in game action. Must follow.

Charles "Cody" Lewis is a 2008 right handed pitcher from Dana Hills HS, residing in Laguna Niguel, CA. He has a 6'3" 212 lb. frame and a strong build, with a plus lower body. His build can be characterized as a power pitcher's frame and he still has room to fill out. Lewis showed arm strength and decent arm speed. His future velocity gains will come from developing his power body and developing an efficient delivery. He maintains good energy direction down the slope and as he learns to keep his power behind the ball longer, his stuff should continue to develop. Lewis hides the ball a bit, making release point somewhat difficult for hitters to pick up. He kept his fastball down and had some life down in the zone, while also showing that he can cut the ball a bit. Lewis' fastball topped at 84 but there is more in there. He also spun the slider well and with it's darting bite and two-plane action, that pitch can develop into an above average out-type pitch, possibly even better. Lewis is a good college follow, with an excellent body, good stuff, and the promise of more to come.
