FB 84-87 from over the top, hard breaking ball with excellent velo, sharp break. Raw mechanics but good arm strength. Pitches around the strike zone. Good athlete who can hit a bit, play the OF. Trent Hillis is a 2008 RHP/OF with a 6'0'', 190 lb. frame from Waynesboro, GA, who attends Burke County HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team. Hillis has a large frame with present strength. On the mound he throws from an over the top arm slot with a short arm circle on the back side. Uses his lower half well getting good balance over the rubber and leverage in his delivery. Hillis dominated hitters with his nasty 12 to 6 curveball at 73 mph. He also had good arm side run on his fastball that topped out at 85 mph. Hillis has good present stuff, and he is very projectable on the mound. Defensively he moves well in the outfield with good arm speed and arm strength. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an open stance with a toe tap back trigger. Hillis has solid bat speed through the zone with good raw power that is projectable. He is a two-way prospect that is a must follow, and is a good student as well.
