Matthew Mack is a 2008 3B/1B with a 5'11'', 195 lb. frame from Davidsonville MD, who attends St. John's College HS. Named to Top Prospect Team. Mack has a big frame with a thick build. Defensively, Mack has a strong arm and throws with a long arm action. He sets up well to the baseball and has good 3B tools. Mack has good defensive actions and has a solid feel for the defensive aspect of the game. At the plate, Mack starts with a square stance and uses a no stride approach. He swings on a line drive path and has leverage at contact. Mack has a good swing and makes consistent solid contact. He generates bat speed and showed the ability to turn on the the inside fastball. He slows his bat up on off-speed stuff which limits his from showing his true ablity to hit. He battles hard at the plate and has solid all-around tools.

Matthew Mack is a 2008 3B/1B from St. John's College HS in Davidsonville, MD with a 5'10", 195 lb. frame. Matthew has a thick athletic build and looked to be a very solid infield prospect at the highest college level. At the plate Matthew has a simple swing and is short and quick to the ball. Matthew does not use a lot of lower half in his swing and could improve with some adjustments at the plate. He has the hitting tools to be a solid hitter at the next level. In the field Matthew has a strong arm (81) with good range (7.13) and nice hands. He was one of the most impressive infield prospects and everything looked very natural to him. Matthew is a player that should be a highest-level college prospect in the next year.
