Ronald Melo is a 2005 OF with a 6'0'', 180 lb. frame from Brooklyn, NY, who attends Grand Street HS. Melo has a compact frame with present strength and athleticism. He runs very well in the sixty (6.75) and in game action. Defensively he has a quick arm with plus arm strength. His throws are online with solid carry. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a crouched stance. Melo attacks pitches showing bat speed through the hitting zone. He is a contact hitter and he has a good knowledge of the strike zone. Once on the bases, Melo shows instincts and a quick first step that can make things happen.
