Tyler Smith is a 2016 SS/3B, 2B with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Grand View College. Slender athletic frame with bouncy athletic actions. Ran a 7.02 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary infield. Showed aggressive athletic actions working to and through the baseball in the infield. Flashed confident clean glove actions with fast hands and transfers to go along with impressive range to both sides of the infield. Displayed a short compact arm action with fast releases and good arm strength topping out at 91 miles per hour across the infield. Left handed hitter. Employs a slightly open stance with a leg lift trigger. Flashed quick hands and a slightly elevated bat path to contact. Utilizes a gap to gap line drive approach with consistent loud line drives driven deep into the gaps. When on time ball jumps off the barrel to all fields. Going to be a Senior at Grand View College. Named to the 2019 National Pre-Draft Showcase Top Prospect List.
